Our restaurant’s interior combines modern style with natural elements. The bright and spacious rooms are adorned with paintings by Dániel Ludwig, an artist from Zala.

The idea of a producer market had been on the mind of our daughter Janka for a while, and in 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, a new meeting point was born in our garden.

Our restaurant and inn’s story dates back to 1992 when we decided to transform what was then a marshy area into a destination for travelers, families, friends, companies, and businesspeople. Originally, László Gelencsér Sr. envisioned a pub here, but through a family decision, we opened Szőlőskert Inn at one of the busiest crossroads in town, and it has been welcoming guests day and night ever since.
Curiosity, dedication, and the drive for continuous development define our work. Over the years, the restaurant has undergone many changes, and since 2003, we offer a fusion of Hungarian, Zala, and Mediterranean cuisines, all in the spirit of sustainable hospitality. The harmonious meeting of flavors is based on the simple yet memorable preparation of seasonal, high-quality ingredients.
Quality is never compromised here. Whether it’s the fresh porcini from the Zala forests or carefully selected specialties from distant markets, every dish is crafted to the highest standard.
The fish comes directly from our garden pond, and every dish is created right here – be it traditional dödölle or freshly made Italian pasta.
Our menu isn’t endless but rather varied, guided by the rhythm of the seasons. Dishes inspired by local flavors, like seasonal dödölle, wild boar, porcini, and forest mushrooms, always play a special role.
Our staple favorites include rich goulash soup, roasted Hungarian lamb, tender oven-baked Mangalica pork, and grilled dishes made from our own aged beef. For lovers of Mediterranean cuisine, we offer homemade pasta.
We constantly keep an eye out for novelties, and with a respect for tradition, we regularly introduce them to our menu. Continuous improvement of our kitchen technology and team members is crucial for us.

In 2022, our eldest daughter, Janka, and her husband Ricsi opened their farm-to-fork restaurant Lokal47 in Kéthely, Somogy, at the Kristinus Wine Estate. Here, guests can enjoy dishes made exclusively from local products.
Their dedication to quality and sustainable gastronomy has earned them several Michelin recommendations.
